Colorado Gives Day, a day for Coloradans to donate to their favorite non-profit organization online and it was the best year for the 24-hour event.

Donors gave 1,258 nonprofits a record $15 million on Tuesday -- a 20 percent increase from 2011 when donors raised $12.8 million.
Started in 2010, Colorado Gives Day is meant to increase philanthropy across the state by encouraging Coloradans to give to a local nonprofit that tackles issues they care about.
