Long-Time Denver Television Star, Blinky The Clown Passes Away At 91 Monday

If you have been in Colorado or Denver for a while, you most certainly remember "Blinky the Clown." Today, the man behind the camera, Russell Scott passed away on Monday, August 27 at the age of 91.

Scott began his television career in Colorado Springs in 1958 and the popular show was moved to Channel 2, KWGN in 1966 the show ran until 1998, when it was canalled.
Scott created a Colorado legend and legacy as Blinky, a red-nosed, plaid-jacketed, pouty-mouthed goof whose gentle humor made a would-be thief temporarily reform his ways and whose safety tips prompted generations of children to look both ways before crossing the street.

I remember waking up and watching "Blinky's Fun Club" do you? Blinky's special Birthday wish was very popular as he wished Colorado kids a "Happy Birf-Day" with a special song.

Blinky, you will be missed.
