Tips From Beauty Experts....

Summer is supposed to be easy, breezy and low-maintenance. But the hot sun can melt your makeup and the humidity can sink your style, creating high upkeep for your looks. Help is on the way from your local Beauty Brands salon/spa/superstore. A treasure trove of products will help make you effortlessly beautiful and cool even during the cruelest of summers. Here are some favorite melt-proof, wilt-proof picks for summer 2013 from the store's team of beauty experts:
• Body: Want to look naturally sun-kissed? Put on Per-fekt Body Perfection Gel/Tan Matte, featuring Smart Color Technology that allows all skin tones to use one shade. You'll get a flawless matte finish minus the streaks and scents that come with many other self-tanners.

• Face: There are several ways to prevent runaway makeup when the temps start to climb:

- Start with a pristine matte canvas, using philosophy matteness collection. This skin-soothing formula performs double duty as a deep daily cleanser and a weekly purifying mask. It features glacial clay. How cool is that?

- Then, prep the face for the day with an all-in-one product like SmashBox Camera Ready CC cream -- it primes, corrects imperfections, hydrates and helps makeup stay in place. Or try water-resistant Stila Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm SPF30, another perfecting primer that's great for outdoor activity.

• Eyes: Look cool in the pool with eyeliner that stays put. Try Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. A marker tip applicator creates a flawless line with no skipping, smudging or pulling.

• Hair: What if you could create a force field between summer humidity and your hair? Well, Sexy Hair Weather Proof Spray does just that. It contains polymers that make a humidity resistant shield to protect blow-outs, updo's and curls from wilting in the weather.

• Nails: Give yourself a long-wear, super shiny manicure that lets you have fun in the sun without worrying about chipping. CND Vinylux Weekly Polish and Topcoat sticks around without a base coat and works with natural light to dry for a flawless finish. Choose from 60 shades that match Shellac colors. You can get a Shellac manicure at the salon & spa at Beauty Brands chip-free shine that last up to two weeks.

•Using a conditioner in the shower, like Clear Frizz Control Nourishing Daily Conditioner ($6), is a must to tame pouffy hair.

•The creamy Herbal Essences Touchably Smooth Anti-Frizz Creme ($6) works to block out the moisture in humid air to prevent frizz from happening. Plus, the scent is divine.

•Tresemme FreshStart No-Frizz Creme For All Hair Types ($4, originally $6) was made to prolong your hairstyle. Spray it on your second-day hair to refresh and revive your look, while also smoothing away frizz and flyaways.

•Garnier Fructis Haircare Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment ($6) coats your hair with argan oil for a frizz-free mane. Try it as a treatment on wet hair, or as a smoothing product on dry hair.

•The travel-friendly Jonathan Product Weightless Smooth No-Frizz Hydrating Balm Mini ($8) is a frizz-fighting balm that hydrates hair, blocks it from humidity, and also protects from heat styling.

•L'Oreal Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum ($7) is made for even the most out of control strands. The keratin-infused formula tames, smooths, and protects for multiple days of frizz control.

•With Motions Naturally You Radiating Gloss ($3), not only do you get frizz protection, but a healthy dose of visible shine, too.

•This hair serum is a classic. Schwarzkopf's Citre Shine Miracle Anti-Frizz Serum ($7) adds a dose of glossiness to your hair, all while keeping your frizz in check.

Walk Off Fat Faster With These Tips.......

5 Ways To Walk Off Fat Faster from foxnews.com

Use your arms
Vigorously pumping your bent arms helps you go faster—and burn more calories.

Take smaller steps
The best way to boost your speed—and thus your burn—is to take shorter, faster steps. Time yourself walking 100 steps, then recover for one minute. Count another 100 steps, and try to shave five seconds off your time. Repeat 12 times.

Get some poles
Using Nordic poles torches an average 20 percent more calories by engaging the muscles in your upper body and torso. Plant the pole firmly at a 45-degree angle behind you, then push back forcefully against the ground to propel yourself forward.

Set goals you can see
Choose markers (stop sign, park bench, etc.) and speed up until you reach them. Slow down for the same distance.

Wipe the pavement
Roll through from heel to toe. When you get to the ball of your foot, push off as if wiping gum off your sole. This will get your calf, hamstring, and glute muscles involved—and the more muscle you use, the more calories you burn.

5 Items Every Woman Needs To Own....

5 Items Every Woman Needs To Own from msn.com

Pencil skirt Here's your crib sheet of wearable trends to shop for this season. At designer shows like Jason Wu, this sleek bottom paired well with everything from tailored blouses to big and boxy jackets. How to wear: Heels required, be they pointy-toe pumps or strappy sandals.

Multi-fabric coat Wool meets leather and fur in fall's mixed-media outerwear. How to wear: You don't have to match your boots to your (leather) trim to rotate these statement pieces into your wardrobe. But consider their vibe -- whether tough, bohemian, or classic.

Bright chunky knit Cables and jacquard weaves team with hot colors for cozy knits. How to wear: Designers went for contrast on the runway, and so should you. Choose a dressier piece -- preferably tailored, not froufrou -- as a contrast to bulk and texture on top.

Winged tote Expandable sides define the newest big bags, but it's more about the look than utility. How to carry: This classic

Leather tee So chic we hate to call it super-trendy (but it is). How to wear: Combine with separates in denim or lace, taking it as reserved ?or as edgy as you wish. Try it belted: Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, and Yves Saint Laurent all cinched theirs at the waist.

What to eat to get pregnant...

The Virility Diet from foxnews.com

Oysters Raw oysters are the richest dietary source of zinc, which not only improves blood flow but also fuels testosterone production. When testosterone levels drop, so do your performance and your libido

Watermelon The summer fruit is high in citrulline, which—like that little blue pill—stimulates nitric-oxide production and increases blood flow to your man junk.

Dark Chocolate This treat is loaded with flavonoids that dilate your arteries. Eat about 1.6 ounces of dark chocolate (about the size of a regular Hershey's bar) daily—that's the amount researchers at the University of California found improved blood-vessel dilation by more than 10 percent.

Cherries Studies show that flavonoids in red, blue, and purple berries cleanse free radicals from arteries, relaxing them and improving blood flow.

Garlic This allium vegetable boosts blood flow to the penis by increasing nitric-oxide production and relaxing blood vessels.

Hair Trends for Spring

I often get asked, "Where do you get your hair done?"  Posh The Salon is where I go and have for yrs.  I love getting my hair done!  It's relaxing and best of all, I get to catch up on all of the latest trends.  My friends at POSH THE SALON gave me the scoop on what to do and expect for Spring.

Best hair trends for spring are messy updos trying not so hard on that sexy hair for the big night out is in! Braids braids and braids anyway you braid it you can't go wrong even with a good old french braid. Hair accessories bows scarves hair bands flowers bright hair ties  metallic anything all will work great. "Rock and roll" waves messy curls some smaller others a bit bigger some half curled. Lo ponytails  are  good for night day or work dress them up or down.

Haircuts for spring are a choppy layered crop just above the shoulders messy with lots of texture...... So sexy. The bob is back. Bangs a good full bang is great for spring.  Long one length hair is in so that you can braid use accessories curl it put it in pony. All of the above. Short hair is on trend Ann Hathaway made a trend and we shall follow.

Hair color for spring why not try pastel pink! Yes it's hot and whether you color your whole head or just some editorial pieces you will be hip!
Sun kissed hi lites nothing bold just soft and and still making a statement with them. Auburn ginger and the copper family are big colors this spring. You can do hi lites or all over color to make a bold statement. Ombré is making a comeback but a different version much softer colors should flow better and have a softer transition.

5 Stars Who Insured Body Parts

5 Stars Who’ve Insured Body Parts from newser.com

Troy Polamalu: The NFL star's famous hair landed him an endorsement deal with Head & Shoulders, which took out a $1 million policy on the long locks.

America Ferrera: When she snagged an endorsement deal with a tooth product company, it insured her smile for $10 million.

Keith Richards: His middle finger is insured for $1.6 million. Presumably that's related to his guitar-playing abilities, rather than his bird-flipping abilities.

Bruce Springsteen: His vocal cords are insured for a cool $5 million.

Heidi Klum: Her legs are insured, but the right leg is worth more ($1.2 million) than the left leg ($1 million), thanks to a scar on her left knee

5 Things Every Woman Must Own...

5 Things Every Woman Must Own from instyle.com

Black Blazer A tailored blazer is classic, feminine and looks great on all body types. Pair it with anything: jeans, little dresses, trousers, skirts. Make sure to find one that fits you well and accentuates your waist—you don't want it to look like it's swallowing you!

Leopard Scarf Even if you're wearing a basic T-shirt and jeans, use accessories like a printed scarf as the 'bright' piece to complete your look.

Red Flat Black is the obvious choice, but red flats provide a pop of color and work for every season. Pair them with a striped shirt and a trench coat.

Striped Shirt This timeless classic is having a comeback. It looks great paired with brights or prints or peeking out from underneath a blazer.

Statement Necklace Having basics in your closet and playing with your accessories is a must. The statement necklace can make a simple outfit look strong and feminine.

Grammy Fashion

What did you think of the fashion last night?  Rihanna was my favorite!  Kelly Rowland rocked and barely kept to the rules of the CBS "no boob" memo.  I think Katy Perry broke the rule.  Wasn't a big fan of JLO or Adele....and I wished Beyonce would of glammed it up more.

Simple Updo at Home

1.  Always curl hair first.  Curling gives your hair volume, and an anchor, for the bobby pins to hold onto.

2.  Brush through the curls and take the crown on the head and backcomb.  (tease)

3.  After you tease the hair, comb or brush the sides of your hair into a pony tail at ear level. Use your hands to smooth over the crown.

4.  Start to twist the hair onto itself, anchoring it with bobby pins as you twirl and leave the ends out on top.  To make it extra secure, criss cross some of the bobby pins over each other.

5.  Pick up any stray hairs that you may have missed, and bobby pin them into the twist.

6.  Lightly spray the hairdo with hairspray.

7.  You can take pomade or styling gel and make the ends a bit more interesting by sealing them with the product.

8.  Spray shine your updo and you are ready for a night out on the town!

Salon Hair Dry at Home...

I would love to have my hair washed and style everyday, but who can afford that??  I asked my friends at Posh the Salon here in Denver to give me the salon secrets.

1.  Start with clean wet hair.

2.  Add product if your hair is limp.
We suggest root boost and volume spray.
If your hair is curly we suggest a smoothing cream.

3. Begin by getting all the moisture out using a vent brush.  Push the hair in every direction, working the root area, straightening it and then move to the ends and mid shaft getting 75% moisture out of hair.

4.  Grab your round brush.  Section your hair.  Start with the back and worn your way to the front.  When you get to the top, over direct the crown by pulling hair towards you.  This will give you a lift.

5.  When you are finished, add finishing cream of choice but remember, the less product you use and the less you touch your hair, the longer your blow dry will last.

Julianne Hough's Golden Globe Hair....

How to get Julianne Houghs edgy fauxhawk that she wore last night The Golden Globes

I fell in love with Julianne's red carpet faux hawk from Golden Globes and wanted to figure out how to style at home....so I went to the masters, the girls at Salon Posh here in Denver. Here are the secrets to get this cute look...

1.) Start by "rough" blow drying the hair dry, and use a round brush on top to get lots of volume.

2.) Tease the crown and add "dry shampoo" rather than "hair spray".
Hair spray makes it too crunchy!

3.) To create the "fauxhawk" twist back 2 sections from the teased crown.
Cross pin the hair in place back and forth, left and right.
This holds the hair in place.

Drinking APP shows how alcohol ages you

(CNN) -- If you're the kind of gal whose "me time" includes a glass or two of wine after work, you might want to consider how those drinks could affect your looks.

That's part of the message of the Scottish government's Drop a Glass Size Campaign, which specifically "encourages women to think about the health effects of regularly drinking above the recommended alcohol guidelines."

Now there's a mobile app that aims to drive that point home on a more personal level.

This week, the campaign rolled out its "Drinking Mirror" app, which lets users upload photos of themselves to show how their faces could age if they keep imbibing at their current rate. The app is available only for Android-powered devices, although government spokeswoman said an iPhone version will be out shortly. A Web version is also available.

The campaign's Drink Smarter website shows a picture of a woman to demonstrate how the drinking mirror works, along with a warning that "deeper wrinkles, red cheeks and weight gain" are just some of the visible effects of regular heavy drinking.

Overall, the campaign aims to make people aware of the fine line between social drinking and drinking too much, especially when people drink in the home. Men are not excluded from the conversation. A page devoted to "drinking like a man" warns that men who have more than five drinks a day are twice as likely to die of a stroke, and that having a beer belly can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea and cancer.

Men and women can use the app by uploading or taking photos of themselves and entering data about their drinking habits. Then, to show the potential long-term physical toll of drinking, the app shows them a photo of how they might look in 10 years at their current rate of alcohol consumption.

Even though the campaign states that "men drink more on average than women" and "suffer more ill effects as a result," it's targeted to women in an effort to play on their vanity, said a Scottish government spokeswoman who asked not to be named.

"In Scotland, we have a troubled relationship with alcohol," she said. "We're focusing on women to try a different approach."

Past government campaigns in Scotland have targeted both genders, but research shows that women in particular "are often unaware or slightly confused about what sensible drinking guidelines are," she said.

"With any public health campaign, it's crucial to target it to specific demographic. It can be an age group, a gender or people with specific risk factors," said health writer and body image expert Leslie Goldman, who has a master's in public health from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

She pointed out that men and women can use the app and that the Drink Smarter website offers information and resources for both genders.

So how much booze is too much?

On a daily basis, it's more than two to three drinks (about a 175 ml glass of 13% wine) for women and three to four drinks (equivalent to a pint and a half of 4% beer) for men. About 38% of Scottish women and 49% of men exceed the daily recommended limit each week, according to government statistics.

"Women don't really accept that the amount of alcohol they're drinking is excessive," the spokeswoman said. "Women are very receptive when you talk about calories in a glass of wine, and people don't always make the association between alcohol and calories."

5 Ways to Get Glossy Hair

5 Ways To Get Glossy Hair from instyle.com

Flat-Iron It Ever notice how straight hair looks almost incandescent when it catches the light? That extra-glossy effect isn't an illusion. Flat-ironing helps ruffled hair cuticles lie flat, which creates more surface area to reflect light. Just be sure not to fry your strands: Only iron bone-dry hair, use a gliding motion, and choose ceramic plates to protect against excessive heat.

Add Contrast Hair that's both light and dark reads shinier to the eye than a flat field of one shade. If your base is dark, ask your colorist for thin ribbons of a lighter hue; if you're a blonde, consider low-lights. At home, try Clairol Perfect 10 by Nice 'N Easy ($14; clairol.com), a single-process treatment that delivers three subtle tones of a single shade.

Eat a Caesar Salad And don't pluck out the anchovies! L-cysteine, found in egg yolks, optimizes the production of keratin, a protein critical for growth (healthy hair = lustrous hair). The omegas in olive oil and anchovies also boost the hydration of hair from the inside out.

Step Away from the Glitter We all love a little bling, but dousing hair with shine products that contain mica can rough up the hair shaft and work against your natural gleam. Instead, look for gloss-boosting ingredients like argan oil, found in Josie Maran's argan oil hair serum ($30; sephora.com), that also condition hair.

Wash Wisely Not all hair colors are created equal, which means you should wash, rinse, and repeat accordingly. Lighter hair is porous and more susceptible to buildup, so it's shiniest when it's cleanest. Those with brunet or deep auburn strands are at their glossiest with well-conditioned second-day hair.

10 Foods For Radiant Skin

10 Foods For Radiant Skin from self.com

1. Almonds Party all night and still look fresh and dewy the next morning. Almonds’ vitamin E brightens drab “hungover” skin by neutralizing free radicals, molecules that dull your look. Plus, almonds’ fatty acids make you gleam.

2. Apricots The fruit throws wrinkles into reverse. Our bodies convert apricots’ vitamin A to retinol, a compound that helps produce new cells. These cells have smoother-looking barriers, as if they were 20 years younger.

3. Brazil nuts Meet your new beach essential. The savory snack fights sunburn fallout with selenium, a mineral that makes skin cells more resistant to turning into “sunburn cells” that produce faulty DNA and can eventually lead to cancer.

4. Chickpeas To help diminish scratches, scars and dark marks, start snacking on hummus. Chickpeas’ protein delivers the amino acids essential for tissue growth and repair.

5. Crab A crab roll (whether in a hot dog bun or sushi) helps keep your face zit-free. When nasty stuff like oil and bacteria clogs pores, it leads to inflammation and acne. Enter crab’s zinc: It helps reduce inflammation to minimize the pimple-making damage.

6. Green tea Does your skin take its sweet time to spring back when you press it? Green tea’s antioxidants may restore bounce. Women who drank a green tea extract daily saw 4 percent more elasticity.

7. Oranges Dark under-eye circles can make you look like the Crypt Keeper—not cute. But the vitamin C in oranges banishes bags. It strengthens collagen, the skin’s supportive structure, to lift sunken areas that create shadows.

8. Salmon It’s packed with omega-3 fatty acids, a healthy fat that hydrates dry patches. Omega-3s may also help increase the production of collagen and elastin, two essentials for soft, no-flake skin.

9. Sunflower oil Even well-hydrated skin can look cracked without this oil’s linoleic acid, a fatty acid that helps create a soft outer layer of cells. Sauté or bake with it for a baby-smooth complexion.

10. Whole-wheat bread A rosy blush is pretty; blotchy red splotches, not so much. Niacin in whole grains reduces redness from acne, rosacea and more by inhibiting inflammatory agents.

What The Colors Of Your Job Interview Clothes Convey

What The Colors Of Your Job Interview Clothes Convey from monster.com

Research has shown that 85 percent of communication is nonverbal, so choosing what to wear to an interview is clearly an important part of your overall presentation. It won’t make up for weak answers, but it can communicate some positive things about your personality and what you might be like to work with.

Here's what some common colors convey so you can put them to best use when getting dressed for the job interview:

Blue: You can't go wrong with darker shades of blue, especially navy. Choosing from this powerful spectrum will project an image of someone who is in control. From the interviewer's point of view, the color blue conjures up calm, stability, trust, truth, confidence and security. These are all great messages to send without saying a word.

Gray: After blue, gray is the second most popular color to wear for an interview. Like darker blue, it’s not a distracting color to the interviewer, which means they’ll be focused more on what you’re saying and how you’re saying it. Gray denotes sophistication, so use it to your advantage.

Black: This is a commanding color and represents authority. Black also connotes drama, so use it carefully when putting together your interview outfit. You may want to use it as an accent -- like in a scarf or tie, for instance -- rather than as the primary color.

Red: This is an extremely powerful color. It's so strong you should only use it as an accent color. Reds are associated with energy, passion, desire, power and aggression. People think of intensity and passion when they see the color red, so use it sparingly, or it could send the wrong message to the interviewer.

White: White shirts and blouses are always a safe bet. It sends the message of simplicity, cleanliness, precision and goodness.
In this very competitive job market, give yourself every opportunity to shine in the interview. Knowing what job interview clothes to wear makes a statement about who you are. Choosing the right colors will reinforce that positive impression.

7 Fashion Myths Debunked

7 Fashion Myths Debunked from instyle.com

MYTH: No Minis on Women over 35 TRUTH: All it takes is a peek at Gwyneth Paltrow's legs in her Preen dress to dispel this fallacy. If you've got the gams, go for it! Just stick to understated silhouettes and “simple hair and makeup.”

MYTH: Save the Sequins for After Dark TRUTH: The shimmery fabric is eye-catching for day when layered with plain basics. Rachel Bilson dressed down a sparkling mini with an oxford shirt, both from designer Jenni Kayne. I think sequins are my favorite fabric because they are glamorous, but I think they also work for day" The designer recommends keeping "the silhouettes simple and easy.

MYTH: Showing Skin Isn't Sophisticated TRUTH: On the right dress, a well-placed peekaboo is a sly surprise. Plenty of confidence. A dress shouldn't own you. It shouldn't overpower you. You should own it

MYTH: Long Dresses Aren't for Short Women TRUTH: Petites need not fear the maxidress trend—Eva Longoria, Jessica Simpson and Kristen Bell have all mastered the summery style. Just choose a dress in a light fabric, like Bell's sheer silk gown from Jenni Kayne, to avoid adding bulk, and wear with comfortable, height-adding wedges.

MYTH: Avoid Clashing Colors TRUTH: An unexpected color combination can make a major statement.

MYTH: Don't Wear Light Shoes with Dark Stockings TRUTH: Black tights get extra chic when worn with a pair of eye-popping pumps. Sarah Jessica Parker gave her minidress a downtown spin with opaque tights and pale pink heels. Keep the "Sex and the City" star's immaculate shoes in mind when picking your kicks—all eyes will be drawn downward so be wary of scuffs.

MYTH: Leather Dresses Are Only for Biker Chicks TRUTH: You don't have to be a Whitesnake fan to rock a leather frock. Just choose a knee-length dress or skirt and add a tailored jacket or shirt for an urbane twist.

Stay Young by Eating The Right Food

8 Foods That Take Away 10 Years from redbook.com

Get glowy again with broccoli When sleepless nights leave you feeling - or looking - a little blah, reach for this crunchy green. A half-cup serving contains more than two-thirds of your recommended intake of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect the immune system.

Sip cocoa for your heart Another reason to enjoy this tasty treat: It helps to maintain healthy blood vessels, which support healthy circulation and a healthy heart.

Oranges, a wrinkle-free fruit for a wrinkle-free you Besides being the most touted way to get your vitamin C, this juicy fruit is chock-full of skin-firming collagen. Add one to your breakfast to one-up those who choose injectables. Cellular renewal takes place within deeper dermal layers, having many experts believe a nutritional approach will provide the best results for healthy skin aging.

Go fish to ward off disease Phish Food might cheer you up, but new studies praise the sea creatures' head-to-toe benefits. Omega-3s can help prevent cancer and quench the fire of inflammation, which weakens the immune system.

Get a boost from flaxseeds and flaxseed oil For vegetarians, those who don't like fish, and parents with children who balk at seafood for dinner, flaxseed oil has a different type, but near equal amount omega-3s. Add a tablespoon to smoothies, or sprinkle ground flaxseeds into cereal, oatmeal, homemade baked goods, or on top of vegetables.

Clean up with a cup of spinach Not only did Popeye grow big and strong, we're willing to bet he was largely disease-free. Dark-colored fruits and veggies - spinach among them - are the best way to get provitamin A carotenoid, which converts to vitamin A in our bodies, and helps to keep the digestive system as spotless as you'd like your kitchen floor to be.

Grow thick skin with sweet potatoes You can now say yes to that side of sweet potato fries guilt-free. With their deep orange color, these spuds too make an appearance on the list of best foods in which to find vitamin A. Since they also contain mineral copper, which facilitates collagen production.

Chow down on chicken to stay young Chicken, again? Don't feel bad about serving this standby - when you put it on the table, you're holding up a stop sign to the aging process. Poultry is high in zinc and selenium, two minerals that balance hormones and pro

House of Style back on MTV

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Move over, Project Runway and Fashion Star. There’s a new -- make that old -- style show hitting to the catwalk this fall to reclaim the fascination of a new generation of fashionistas.

House of Style is deeply rooted in celebrating and drawing energy from our audience’s mix-and-match love of fashion, music and pop culture,” said Dave Sirulnick, executive vice president of MTV News and Docs.

The original show, which ran for 78 episodes from 1989-99, chronicled the inner workings of the fashion industry from haute couture by designers such as Todd Oldham and John Galliano to the meteoric rise of fashion models such as Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn and Molly Simms. With a revolving door of hosts including Crawford (for six years), Romijn and Simms, the show was eventually canceled in 2000.  Although briefly resuscitated for a one-time special in 2009 hosted by Bar Refaeli (who graced the 2009 cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue), with Chanel Iman (a former Victoria Secret Angel) as a correspondent, House of Style has remained dormant until now.

With the creation of MTV style channel in 2010, viewers and industry insiders began peppering the network with requests to restore House of Style to its former glory. Staffers began to unearth the original archives, including 150 still photos and 170 video segments previously unreleased. This body of work has been complied into an impressive digital collection with images of Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, award-winning designer Marc Jacobs and singer-turned-fashion designer Gwen Stefani.

“The landscape has changed, but the common threads of humor behind the scenes of fashion and the DIY spirit are universal,” said MTV Digital VP of Production Sophia Rai. “Now it’s more about how to tell the story using social media tools.”

As different memories of the beloved staple resurfaced, Sirulnick spearheaded the idea of recording its legacy in the documentary House of Style: Music, Models and MTV. Airing Aug. 7, the behind-the-scenes special deciphers the evolution of fashion in the ‘90s and its symbiotic relationship to music with insight from luminaries such as model Coco Rocha.

“In bringing back House of Style, we’re once again looking to spotlight the spirit, personality and sometimes humor of the most interesting people in fashion who personify the energy of style in 2012,” said Sirulnick.

The new host of House of Style will be revealed during the red carpet show of the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 6. The show’s shooting schedule coincides with New York Fashion Week, but will debut officially on Oct. 9.

Biggest Bikini Buying Mistakes

Women's Biggest Bikini-Buying Mistakes from yahoo.com

Let Your Body Talk. You need to really come to terms and make friends with what you look like . After all, when it comes to finding the suit that suits you, it's all about accentuating your body type. Selecting a color or shape which is trendy but not flattering to your body" is a serious "don't. Ask yourself, 'Does the color make your eyes, hair color and skin tone come alive?' You want that answer to be yes.

Women who have athletic physiques can go girly with ruffles, which soften a less-curvy figure with a feminine touch ($76 - $82, Bloomingdales.com).

On the petite side? Take your style to new heights with a top that draws the eye upward; think prints and bright colors, like a suit from Xhilaration ($14.99 - $17.99, target.com). Another trick to make you look taller: Flaunt those gams with a high-cut leg line that sits almost to the hip.

Trying to minimize your midsection? A fold-over waistband, such as a blue and red bottom from Volcom ($38, Zappos.com).

Self-conscious about your hips? Suit up with a skirted bottom that hugs your curves the right way Try a Becca by Rebecca Virtue style ($70, Zappos.com).

Don't Be A Total Showoff. There are better ways to impress the lifeguard. Busts should be covered up three-quarters of the way. It's still sexy, and it's not like you're wearing a T-shirt.

This daisy-print halter-top from Roxy passes the test ($42, roxy.com) — and it will totally hold up during a shore side volleyball game, if you're set on impressing that lifeguard.

Know What's Up. Fun in the sun can mean hanging ten in the ocean — or working on your tan poolside. So think about what you'll be doing while you don your bikini. Very often, if you buy a strapless [bikini], it will end up down and around your hips. f you're going to be running around chasing little kids on the beach or being sporty, or maybe you're more of a sitting-by-the-pool-drinking-a-cocktail person, you need to make sure the suit you're going to buy is going to serve you well in all those different roles.

Plan on taking a dip? Opt for a swimsuit with straps, like a floral Betsey Johnson stunner ($82 - $128, Bloomingdales.com).

And if that role is the latter, take your summer day sip by sip in your pretty-as-paradise attire, like a fringe-embellished top from L*Space ($68, Zappos.com).

Show Some Support. How can you look fabulous and fit in your bikini? The answer: a fabulous-fitting bikini. Saggy bottoms and loose tops — that's no way to make a stylish splash this summer. There's no reason to walk around showing off your body in a poor-fitting product. Your bathing suit will likely stretch a little bit, if it's a little too small, then it's probably going to be fine.

If you want to show off your, um, below-the-belt assets, opt for a bottom with less coverage instead, like a neon hipkini from Victoria's Secret($18, victoriassecret.com).

Don't Sweat It. Between tan lines and sunburns (and that hot lifeguard!), you have enough to think about when you strip down into your swimwear. So leave your insecurities back home in your closet with your winter ware because the true secret to looking hot doesn't have a price tag. There's something about a woman who wears a bikini with confidence. She still looks spectacular. So mix and match bold prints and colors, and build your bikini wardrobe based on staples, like the classic triangle top — it's the universal top.

Try Roxy, which is available in summery favorites such as orange and yellow ($40, roxy.com).

Do It Yourself Facial for under $50

There’s nothing better than getting a professional facial, but they can be expensive. To maintain your healthy skin between professional treatments or to do them yourself, try this basic at-home facial once a week. This basic facial works on oily, dry and combination skin.

And don’t worry, I’m not going to make you whip up a batch of egg-whites and oatmeal, but you will save money if you do your own mask. I list a bunch of organic, natural Homemade Face Mask Recipes for every skin type. But if you don't want to whip up your own, you can buy a great mask at health food stores or even your local drugstore.

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 25-30 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Cleanse the skin

You’ll want to wash the face, neck and ears with a good facial cleanser to remove any grime or dirt. I recommend some great options in my list of the best cleansers.

Don't forget to remove makeup with a makeup remover. My hands-down favorite is Clinique, but Neutrogena's eye makeup remover is a great drugstore option.

  2. Exfoliate

Using your fingers, rub a gentle exfoliating facial scrub in a circular motion on your face. Concentrate on the areas around your nose and forehead or if you have combo skin, work harder on the areas that tend to be "greasy." Rinse your face well since exfoliating scrubs tend to be drying.

See my list of the best scrubs or make your own using white sugar mixed in with extra virgin coconut oil.

  3. Steam

There are several ways to steam your face. You can fill your sink with warm water, dip a washcloth in and press to your face repeating 2-3 times or you can take it further by boiling water over the stove, then turning off the stove and putting your head over the water with a towel over your head, letting the steam seep into pores for a good 5 minutes. My favorite steam trick is to actually use my clothing steamer. I turn it on, put a towel over my head and put my face a good foot above the steamer. Works like a charm. But be careful: Do not burn yourself.

  4. The mask

For oily skin, use a clay-based face mask. For dry skin, go for a hydrating gel or cream mask.
Apply the mask, avoiding the areas around the eyes. Keep it on for 10-20 minutes (or, according to the directions on the product). Rinse completely. You can even make your own face mask.

Get recipes for every skin type in 23 Homemade Face Mask Recipes.

  5. Moisturize

Smooth on a soothing, basic moisturizer over your face and neck. See my list of the best facial moisturizers.

Tip: Stay away from strong moisturizers containing retinols or acids. These will over-exfoliate your skin.

The Oscars

The most exciting part of the Oscars is the red carpet, at least for us girls.  What did you think of the fashion last night?  Hit or miss for Angelina Jolie?  I loved it!  Simple, yet so elegant.  I heard her family threw all of the designers name in a hat and picked the winner.  Very different than I thought it was going to be.  I thought for sure she was going to pop the carpet with more color.  The black dress showed off her figure amazingly.

Loved Tina Fey, Penelope Cruz, and I like Kristen Wiig.  Most of the girls on E! News was not a fan of Kristen, but I thought the dress and style fit her personality.  It wasn't over the top.

Primping for the Oscars

According to my friends at Sheet Happens: Some stars are preparing for the Oscars by getting $2,000 diamond partical facial scrubs. Others are getting skin peels, green tea face masks and red-and-blue UV light therapy treatments to prevent acne. Some stars plan to wear mink eyelashes that cost $10,000 a piece. Professional bronzers, who carry portable tanning sprayers, are also being brought in. Some female stars have had Botox injected under their breasts to give their sagging cleavage a much-needed lift. Other stars are preparing for the Oscars with hydrocortisone injections, which are designed to get rid of acne and unwanted blemishes. Many female stars have spent the last week getting ice facials to tighten their skin. Others got bee venom masks. Stars will be plumping their lips with cinnamon oil. Some will also wear panty shields under their arms to keep sweat away from their dresses and tuxedos. 16,000 square feet of red carpet has been laid for the Oscars.
