The Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G Komen for the Cure® was founded in 1993 to carry out our promise — to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. The Affiliate continually strives to meet this mission through education, grant making, advocacy and fundraising.
The Affiliate’s signature fundraising event, the Komen Denver Race for the Cure® had almost 55,000 participants in 2009 one of the largest Race for the Cures in the world. In addition, the Affiliate hosts the Pink Tie Affair™ each fall bringing together over 800 supporters of the Affiliate. Only through the generosity of individual donors are we able to support the growing needs of our community.
