Hope your holiday weekend was a good one....and how about that wind!! I tried to golf on Friday at Bear Dance golf course near Larkspur. I have played in some very windy conditions before but not like that. Twice when I hit a shot I swear the wind blew it back over my head!!..I'm bad enough I don't need that kind of help! Then we played on Sunday at Murphy Creek, we teed off early to beat the wind. Well that plan worked..however I played the worse round I can remember in a long time. I know that happens in golf...however I was so disgusted with my play that day..when I got home and Carol asked how I played, all I said was....Here take my clubs and use them as stakes for your tomato plants!....she says..that bad huh?......
Hope the weekend was good..on Saturday Denise and I MC'd an event downtown at Sculpture park right by the DCPA. It was the Concert for Kids Community Day when all these young people and other groups gather and head out to help Seniors withtheir yards also people with disabilities with their homes. As you know it was a miserable weather day but still hundreds showed up for the cause. I thought that was spectacular!...Job well done guys!!

I went to the Rockies game on Thursday..yes despite my dissatisfaction with their performance....I'm still a fan. Something happened that probably has never happened at a Rockies game!...game delay because of...BEES. They started to swarm right by the Rockies dugout during the game..sending players and camera guys scrambling....They call a beekeeper in and removes the swarm with a vaccum cleaner thing..wearing no protection himself!!..the guy was nuts!...I wish the pitchers would have swarmed like that for a victory!!
Like many I'm a hugh Rockies fan and every spring we have high hopes for a great season ..right?! Well here it is only May and already I'm bummed out about the season. I think our defense is good, I think our offense for the most part is good. I like the addition of Cuddyer to the team, that seems to be working out. BUT..the pitching is just horrible so far!!. When it appears your best pitcher is a guy 49 years old there is a problem...please Rockies ...I love you guys...but spend some money on pitching. I could drag out my old glove...I had a decent curve ball at on time...a long TIME ago.
Finally the Rockies win a road game!...take out the Giants last night. That is good but I'll tell you what I was most impressed with but not surprised. It's the play of Troy Tulowitzski...in case you don't know the night before he was hit in the knee with a freak foul ball. There was great concern he would be out for awhile..oh no ..not Troy he started last night and helped win the game. In fact if it wasn't for the bum knee that triple he had could have easily been an inside the park homer!!..he just couldn't run fast!...Great job Troy!!
WOW what a playoff series the Nuggets had with the Lakers. The boys took them to game 7 on Saturday night and fought to the bitter end. I really thought they were going to pull it out..what an upset that would have been. It would have been worth it just to see Kolby Bryant go down! The good news is the team should be intact for next season...attention Nuggets management sign Ty Lawson to a long term deal he is the man!!....
So on Monday we come home from an exciting round of gorcery shopping..you know how much I love it. Only to discover that Bailey ,one of our freinds from the Dumb Friends League, has left a ...deposit..in the living room. Not a pleasant experience but if you have dogs these things happen. I do my husbandly duty and start to clean it up. As I'm doing this I look over and there is Bailey standing there looking at me with a funny look on his face, all of a sudden he starts to do it again...right in front of me!!! Of course I contain my self and just kind of yell....GET OUT OF HERE!!!..he walks outside to finish his job. But I ask, are pets like children and just like to cause problems sometimes...I mean I swear Bailey knew what he was doing...and liked it!
