I love being a grandfather..it's the best.... or as my grandchildren call me...PaPoo. On Sunday we had the family over for dinner and my grandson Greyson was there. he is what has been said is an Indigo Child or an old soul..someone who supposedly been here before. He constantly amazes me with what comes out of his mouth at the age of 4. So we are sitting at dinner and out of the blue he asks me........"Papoo how old were you when you first tooted?"....yes you read it correct....I didn't know what to say I was so shocked..imagine me speechless!
I know this is a silly question but is Friday your favorite day of the week?....Why not Saturday its only the beginning of the weekend..or Sunday is the family day...Monday a chance to start the week off right....Tuesday a chance to recover from Monday if it didn't go right....Wednesday is the middle of the week....Thursday is closer to Friday! There we go again it's all about Friday...end of the week...the beginning of the weekend....Have a good one!!!
I love teachers..in fact I'm married to one. Two of my daughters are teachers and they are all,for the most part, the best.
But you know when you were growing up there was one teacher that was over the top crazy. Mine was my first male teacher in 7th grade....Mr. Hartman. Now keep in mind I wasn't the best kid in class, however Mr. Hartman would sneak up behind you and wack you on the head with his big college class ring..OUCH!!...Probably couldn't do that today. You can share your story tomorrow morning at 7:40...might win a prize for the best story!
As you know by now I do most of the grocery shopping at the Huston house. I'm avid coupon clipper, I go to the store with a game plan in mind. As I get older I consider it my sport to see how much money I can save each time I go. The last few times I have not done that well, I thought it was me. But if I had really paid attention I would have noticed that it is the cost of food going up!!...can't save as much. I don't know how families keep up with that cost...best of luck. However if you ever need coupon clipping tips, I might be your man!!
If you grew up in Denver then you know the name Charley Martin,,part of the famous radio team of Hal & Charley. Remember the soap opera...Pomp & Circumstances?....very funny. They owned Denver radio in the 70's and 80's, two of the greatest guys you will ever know. I had the honor of working with them for 10 years at KHOW..some of the best years of my career. Charley passed last Friday after a long illness, he was creative...funny and caring. Many of you have asked about a service honoring him, as of now I don't know of one...but stayed tuned. In the mean time ...Charley rest in peace my friend.
Carol and I have been married for over 40 years...known each other since we were 15! So it did not surprise me when last week I surprised her with a gift that she was so happy to get. I know you are thinking I gave her some jewelry or new clothes....no in the old days maybe. No...I bought her a...are you ready.....a LINT LIZARD!!..Yes just like you see on tv. It cleans the lint from the bottom of the clothers dryer that the lint basket misses!...Yes she loved!....that is true love!
