Denise's Diary

I volunteered in my son Austin's class yesterday, always lots of fun. The teachers put on a pep rally for the kids and Austin's teacher dressed up and performed as Hanna Montana....she rocked the joint. The kids went crazy.  She told me privately that she was soooo nervous and watched Hanna on youtube all night long to prepare for the big day.  It really turned out cute. Teachers have such a demanding job and when you come across a teacher like my son's that still has the passion, love and fun for the kids, it's really cool. After Austin's class, I had to boogie to take Wyatt..he's my 5 year old...to soccer practice.  That boy lives, breaths and LOVES soccer! Guess who I saw there??  Yes, MONA!!  Just in case your new to the station, Mona is a woman I met last summer at the pool.  I was there with my son Wyatt and she was there with her son who is 7.  They were playing in the pool with a bunch of kids, when her son decided to punch little Wyatt in the back of the head.  Wyatt was upset, she told her son to get out of the pool.  I calmed Wyatt down and walked him over so the kids could make up.  She just looked at me and said, "What!"  Dang lady, RELAX is what I wanted to say.  Instead I said, "I thought the kids could make up."  She told me her son hit my son, big deal... he's doesn't have to apologize.   Well, it was on from there! As the summer went on, she made snide remarks with her catty friends at the pool and I talked about it on air.  Guess what?  They listen to KOSI!!!  Thank goodness I changed her name to MONA :)  She ended up being a volunteer in my 8 year olds classroom, like I am.  The drama has been going on ever since.  I hadn't seen her in a while....until soccer.  I said hello and she said, "Do you think Wyatt will be able handling getting hit in this sport?"  Yes at that point I wanted to deck her.  I replied, "Has your son learned to apologize yet?"  She told me that she believes saying sorry is a sign of weakness and she tells her boys to learn from their mistakes, but NEVER say you're sorry.  GOSH, I didn't know what kind of nut job I was actually dealing with!!  Now we just walk past each other and you can guess what goes thru each of our minds.  It's  gonna be a crazy summer!
