Hope the weekend was good..on Saturday Denise and I MC'd an event downtown at Sculpture park right by the DCPA. It was the Concert for Kids Community Day when all these young people and other groups gather and head out to help Seniors withtheir yards also people with disabilities with their homes. As you know it was a miserable weather day but still hundreds showed up for the cause. I thought that was spectacular!...Job well done guys!! |

I went to the Rockies game on Thursday..yes despite my dissatisfaction with their performance....I'm still a fan. Something happened that probably has never happened at a Rockies game!...game delay because of...BEES. They started to swarm right by the Rockies dugout during the game..sending players and camera guys scrambling....They call a beekeeper in and removes the swarm with a vaccum cleaner thing..wearing no protection himself!!..the guy was nuts!...I wish the pitchers would have swarmed like that for a victory!! |

Finally the Rockies win a road game!...take out the Giants last night. That is good but I'll tell you what I was most impressed with but not surprised. It's the play of Troy Tulowitzski...in case you don't know the night before he was hit in the knee with a freak foul ball. There was great concern he would be out for awhile..oh no ..not Troy he started last night and helped win the game. In fact if it wasn't for the bum knee that triple he had could have easily been an inside the park homer!!..he just couldn't run fast!...Great job Troy!! |

WOW what a playoff series the Nuggets had with the Lakers. The boys took them to game 7 on Saturday night and fought to the bitter end. I really thought they were going to pull it out..what an upset that would have been. It would have been worth it just to see Kolby Bryant go down! The good news is the team should be intact for next season...attention Nuggets management sign Ty Lawson to a long term deal he is the man!!.... |

Like many I'm a hugh Rockies fan and every spring we have high hopes for a great season ..right?! Well here it is only May and already I'm bummed out about the season. I think our defense is good, I think our offense for the most part is good. I like the addition of Cuddyer to the team, that seems to be working out. BUT..the pitching is just horrible so far!!. When it appears your best pitcher is a guy 49 years old there is a problem...please Rockies ...I love you guys...but spend some money on pitching. I could drag out my old glove...I had a decent curve ball at on time...a long TIME ago. |

So on Monday we come home from an exciting round of gorcery shopping..you know how much I love it. Only to discover that Bailey ,one of our freinds from the Dumb Friends League, has left a ...deposit..in the living room. Not a pleasant experience but if you have dogs these things happen. I do my husbandly duty and start to clean it up. As I'm doing this I look over and there is Bailey standing there looking at me with a funny look on his face, all of a sudden he starts to do it again...right in front of me!!! Of course I contain my self and just kind of yell....GET OUT OF HERE!!!..he walks outside to finish his job. But I ask, are pets like children and just like to cause problems sometimes...I mean I swear Bailey knew what he was doing...and liked it! |

I don't know what it is about me and snakes and golf! Just got back from another hairy back golf trip, this time to Alabama. We had a blast as always, however we were warned about the poisonous snakes we might encounter. I never really pay attention to that speech because I'm thinking ....I'll never see a snake. Well we are about 3 holes into the round when my ball goes right into a pond, just on the edge. I'm thinking, no problem, I'll just walk over a take it out ...drop.. and play on. As I reach for the ball this SNAKE charges out of this bush right next to me...WOW..you talk about being scared!...I left the ball there and ran back to the cart and moved on. Now I know why they make adult diapers!!! |

I was playing ball with my grandson yesterday...not a bad player for age 4 if I do say so myself. He hit one over our back fence into the neighbors yard!!...I knew they were off to work so I thought I'll just climb that baby and get the ball myself. The brown beast ,as I call it ,is about 6 ft. tall. I started over and as I swung one leg over, the other one slipped and I landed right on top !..yes with the top of the fence right between the legs!!... It felt like a pulse of electricity went through me. Guys you know what I mean..I screamed like a girl..yes right in front of my grandson. No I did not swear...but..I think he laughed!...can't blame him |

Played alot of basketball in high scholl and college..but it's been a while. On Wednesday Southwest airlines held this Hot shot competition at Sky Line Park. It benefited 9 charties as we shot basketballs to make points. Who made the most shots in 90 seconds...well guess who won!...Yes I know you are shocked.. it was me. The good news I won a check for $5000 for VOA...but who still has the touch baby!!! |

Sorry about the Rockies losing their home opener....however somethime it's not about the game but the party before the game!! I've been lucky enough to attend every home opener since the Rockies arrived some of the games were good some ,not so good. But the celebrating before the game is always great!!..just all the families and activities downtown is worth the trip even if you don't have tickets for the game. There is a strong feeling that opening day should be made a national day off..what do you think?? |
